Police arrest 29-year-old for drugs and firearms offences


ANGUILLA – The Royal Anguilla Police Force on Tuesday, August 2, formally arrested and charged 29-year-old Darius Richardson of Long Bay for possession of cannabis, possession of firearms, ammunition and assault.

The alleged offender was arrested after a pistol with four rounds of ammunition, and over three pounds of cannabis was discovered during the execution of a search warrant on his premises.

He was taken before the Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, August 3, where he was granted bail in the sum of EC $60,000 with a cash bond of EC $15,000 and one surety.

His conditions of bail are that he is to report to police every Monday and Friday between the hours of 6:00am and 6:00pm. The alleged offender was also ordered to be of good behavior.

He is due back in court on Tuesday, September 27, for commencement of the preliminary inquiry into the charges.
