Sunset Today: 6:47 P.M.
Sunrise Tomorrow: 5:51 A.M.
This afternoon through Sunday midday: East-northeast with a moderate to fresh breeze of 15 to 24 miles per hour, and occasional higher gusts.
Available moisture and instability associated with an approaching tropical wave will bring scattered showers and possible thunder to the local region. Some of these showers could be heavy at times and may cause street-flooding. Residents and users of areas prone to flooding are advised to be vigilant.
Seas have increased slightly, and will continue to gradually increase during the next 24 hours. Therefore, small craft operators and sea bathers should continue to exercise caution.
STATE OF THE SEA: Moderate to rough
WAVES/SWELLS: 6 to 8 feet
SPECIAL FEATURE: A tropical wave moving rapidly towards the Lesser Antilles remains poorly organized. However, this system will bring showers and gusty winds to the Eastern Caribbean today into Sunday.
This system has a 10% chance of development over the next 48 hours. The St. Maarten Meteorological Department will monitor the progress of this system.
OUTLOOK through Monday midday: Cloudy and breezy with scattered showers and a risk of thunder.
The next weather forecast will be issued today at 18:00 LST (22:00 UTC).
