Our St. Maarten big winner, Evita Allamake

PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten –The theme of the 2015-16 Peace Poster Contest is “Share Peace” Students, ages 11 – 13 on November 15, are eligible to participate in this year’s Lions Peace poster contest.

Young people are encouraged to express their visions of peace through art in the Lions International Peace Poster Contest. Lions clubs around the world proudly sponsor the contest in local schools and youth groups.

ART

Participants use a variety of mediums, including charcoal, crayon, pencil and paint, to express a different theme about peace each year.

The works vary greatly and reflect the young artists’ life experiences and culture.

LOCAL ARTIST

Students will be given tips and will be mentored by local artists.

International Winner 2014-2015 “Peace, Love and Understanding”, Wei Jin Qian, 13 years old from China

The winning poster, representing St. Maarten, will be selected by renowned artists Max Phelipa & Loic Bryant & Youmay Dormoy and Lucinda Audain. St. Maarten’s entry will compete to represent District 60B and hopefully appear in the Lions International Peace Poster competition.

Drawings must be submitted to the St. Maarten Lions Club by 31 October 2015.

GLOBAL

Judges from the art, media, youth development and humanitarian communities select 24 international finalists representing the more than 350,000 children who participate annually. Posters are shared globally via the Internet, social media, news outlets and traveling exhibits.
