BVI — A member of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force has been in police custody since Friday based on allegations that he indecently assaulted a female who is below 16 years old.
BVI News Online understands that he has secured the services of an attorney and will be charged.
The officer is stationed on Virgin Gorda.
“Police are investigating allegations made against an officer. I cannot comment any further,” Police Information Officer Diane Drayton told BVI News Online yesterday.
Additional information reaching BVI News Online this morning is that the officer in question is still in a cell at the Road Town Police Station on Tortola.
He is reportedly denying the allegations made against him by the eight-year-old complainant, BVI News Online also understands.
