A 33-year-old man accused of shooting his ex-girlfriend (who from Sint Maarten) to death in front of their child threatened to kill the woman months earlier, recently released court records show.

Travis Bivins is charged with first-degree murder in the Aug. 1 shooting death of Linda Lake.

Lake was found shot to death in the street just outside of her vehicle in front of a home on Rubens Court that they used to share. Orange County Sheriff’s deputies say the former couple’s 3-year-old was in the car during the shooting, but was unharmed.

The child told witnesses and deputies, “Daddy shot Mommy.”

After Bivins fled, his sister told deputies he called family members shortly after the shooting and said, “it’s over” and made suicidal threats, documents state.

He was later arrested.

According to court documents, deputies were also called to the home in March after he threatened Lake.

Bivins reportedly said that Lake “would return to a house full of dead kids” if she called authorities, and that he “would make her life hell and then hunt her down and kill her.”

It’s not clear if he was arrested.

Deputies have made other visits to the home.

In 2011, Bivins was charged with interference with custody after being accused of taking one of their children from school without permission.

In the arrest affidavit, Lake told deputies Bivins was “very abusive toward her and she is scared.”

Neighbors also said Bivins was abusive toward Lake and she moved out of the home.

Kathleen West, 84, who lives across the street, said they would have many arguments.

“It’s so easy for people to say, ‘Why didn’t she get out of there?” West said. “Sometimes it’s impossible to get out of there. Because of the threats, not only of killing her but killing her children.”

Bivins remains at the Orange County Jail without bond.

Linda Lake, was a single 45 year old woman, with four children ages 23, 20, 14 and 3.  Many months ago, Linda left her home that she purchased and was living with her eldest son,  who is battling with severe health issues. Before, she left, Linda’s ex boyfriend took residency in her home. On many occasions, Linda went to the police department for assistance in having her ex removed from her house, but to no avail. The police told her that because she invited him to her home, they cannot force him to get out. Linda, has complained about her ex threatening her with a baseball bat and at times chased her with a gun.  At that time, the release clip jammed when he tried to fire. Once again, she reported him to the police department. He was arrested for a short period, but once he was released,  the episodes continued.

Although, there were several restraining orders, the police echoed that they could not do anything to her ex because he did nothing to her. She told the police, “Are you all waiting until he kills me?” On August 1, 2015, at about 1:30 in the afternoon, Travis Bivins’ dream of killing Linda became a reality. She suffered three gunshot wounds to her head in the presence of two of her children.

Linda, was aware that it was only a matter of time before she would be killed. With no close relative in the Orlando area , where the children are located, Linda, always asked, “how will my girls be taken cared of?” She was also very concerned about her second son who was transitioning to further his education.

Today, we solicit your donantion of love to show support for Linda’s four children. The family is also asking for your prayers because when Linda’s mother learned of her daughter’s passing, she succumbed to a heart attack and died. Please, remember the family in prayer as they go through these traumatic times.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE IS REAL. HOW DOES ONE HELP, WHEN YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO?!!!!!

PLEASE HELP THIS FAMILY, AS THEY STRUGGLE TO FIND HOPE.
