PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten — On Thursday, May, 7th, 2015, the judges of The First Response Interscholastic Art Competition entitled, Secure, Protect and Prevent made their decision of who made it to the next round. We received thirty Art pieces from nine high schools. Once again our profound judges are, Ms. Ruby Bute, Mrs. Stephanie Tihanyi, Mr. Maximiliaan Phelipa, Mr. Elvis Harrigan and Mr. Cameron Hyman.
Moving on to the next round we have, Carina Alcin, Kadyjah Lake and Arianna Perez representing St. Maarten Academy FAVE. Jameson Edouard, Odnel Gaspard and Stephanie Arnaud representing St. Maarten Vocational and Training School. Estika Halley, Samantha Hemskerk and Teva Marzi representing the Caribbean International Academy. Nishita Sorandangani, Malik Martes and Yarden Arava representing Learning Unlimited. Dennisha Brooks, Kiara Meyers and Jermonica Collymore representing the MAC CSE. Mike Edouard, Mike Timot and Erwin Romney representing Milton Peters College. Neha Gidwani, Aaron Ylaya and Ronak Mangtani representing St. Dominic High School.
Bernise Florestal automatically will be representing the Sundial School at the Finals. Dencia Saul and Ricardo Phang will be representing Charlotte Brookson Academy at the Semi-Finals and Finals of this competition.
We strongly urge the community to support these young, ambitious and talented men and women who spent time to create a master piece by voting for your favorite art piece. Vote by liking the photo of the art pieces on the First Response Facebook page www.facebook.com/myfirstresponse , stay tuned on May 15th at 6:00 pm as we announce the semi-finalist of the competition. This is where it all gets interesting, the semi-finalists are required to create a 15 second video that is completely related to the theme Secure, Protect and Prevent. These videos will be posted on the Facebook page!
Join as we strive for better and safer St. Maarten on May 30th at the Westin Resort starting from 6:00pm where the highly anticipated 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners will be chosen. All nine finalist will be entertaining the audience with theme related performances, all art pieces will be on display, live band, entertainment, refreshments and so much more. Remember it’s a formal affair!
