MAHO – Safety first is the credo of Sonesta Resorts. Bearing that in mind, team members of Sonesta Maho Beach Resorts and Casino and Sonesta Great Bay Resort, Casino and Spa have received basic Emergency First Response training.

Upon completing the course, an internationally recognized certificate was presented to each participant.

Over a 10-week span, Emergency First Response Instructor Sandra Volard-Kruis conducted Primary and Secondary courses for team members. They received training in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and how to use their Automated External Defibrillator (AED).

Some 52 team members from Sonesta Maho and 24 from Sonesta Great Bay are now certified as Emergency First Responders. All team members were enthusiastic about the training and were fully committed to the intense course.

The Maho Group commends team members who have stepped up to the plate to undergo the training and who will be volunteering on the Health and Safety Committee to assist in the event of an emergency situation.

“Our team members are always eager to gain new skills. This course, though quite intense, has added a life-long experience to our team members and have given our Resorts a bonus in trained responders. We, of course, do not envision emergency situations, but should such occur, the teams are prepared,” said a release from the Maho Group.

Sonesta Resorts aim for all guests to have a fun and enjoyable time at its resorts and team members play an integral part in the total holiday experience. “The Sonesta Resorts are now heart safe places!” the release concluded.
