FLORIDA – Winners of this year Soca Rumble King Vers in the power category and Mighty Dow in the groovy category, both attended and performed at the Miami Broward One Carnival last week, October 9 in Florida, US.

The Miami-Broward One Carnival Host Committee is a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing a safe, family festival in South Florida and outlying areas, providing critical opportunities to the Caribbean people in South Florida to share the Caribbean culture, promote cultural exchange and build economic cooperation in the multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment of South Florida.

Here’s what they both had to say about their experience according to Montage Event Planner Grisha Heyliger: “Mighty Dow: My experience in Miami was a great one and reminded me of times I travelled in The past I heard comments from the audience like boy you full of energy.

“Had a talk with Onku and Onyan from Burning Flames about the change and trend in music today. The audience accepted us both Verse and I well. I will be back in Miami and Canada is also on my Agenda.

“And we had an extensive interview with I and I roots and culture company. They also worked with IRAMA international reggae and word music association the IRAMA was the ones who gave me a life time achievement awards and inducted into IRAMA Hall of FAME.”

Montage also asked King Vers for his comments regarding the Carnival event: “The Sunday event had well over 4-5k in attendance. Some local from St. Maarten was there and they say along with me. The experience was crazy so many people.

“On Monday event Kenyo Baily also performed. St. Maarten was well represented in Miami. I also got a linked up to perform at the Houston Carnival event.”

Grisha Heyliger, Event Planner, says both artists are grateful to Petrol Sol and Montage NV for sponsoring the entire travel and lodging to Miami.

New recruitment for Soca Rumble 2017 begins November 1st. Artist would have the entire month to sign up and two months to prepare their music.

Everybody had a great time at the Miami Broward One Carnival village and the St. Maarten artists are looking forward to it next year, Grisha Heyliger concluded.
