PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten — A fundraising raffle in support of student participation in the 7th World Youth Heritage Symposium was successfully held on Saturday, March 28, 2026. Proceeds from the raffle will assist five students and their accompanying teachers who have been selected to attend this prestigious international event.
The winners of the raffle are as follows:
1st Place: Mr. Olivacee Ophar – 2-night/3-day stay at Oyster Bay Beach Resort
2nd Place: Ms. Shermina Powell-Richardson – 2-night/3-day stay at Sapphire Beach Club & Resort
3rd Place: Ms. Emlynn Francis – 2-night/3-day stay at Alicia’s Inn
4th Place: Ms. Rosemite Antoine – Brunch for two at Infinity Restaurant
5th Place: Ms. Marie Henry – Desk chair from Office World
Ms. Marcellia Henry, Secretary General for UNESCO, St. Maarten, expressed sincere gratitude to the hotels and businesses that generously donated prizes for the raffle. “Their contributions have played a vital role in making it possible for these students and their teachers to participate in the Symposium,” she stated.
The students and teachers will travel to Athens, Greece from April 20 to April 27, 2026, where they will engage in cultural exchange and heritage discussions with peers from around the world.
