SUV knocks down a pedestrian on Walter Nisbeth road

PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten — The traffic department of the St. Maarten Police Force is now conducting an investigation into an accident that took place on the Pondfill road Tuesday night. One man of Jamaican Nationality was knocked down as he attempted to cross the road.

Information states that the pedestrian did not pay keen attention to the oncoming traffic and the driver of the vehicle did not see the crossing pedestrian in time to prevent the accident.

The pedestrian obtained several deep cuts and was treated on the scene of the accident by ambulance personnel before being wicked off to the St. Maarten Medical Center (SMMC).
