Application for New Recruits

Applications are invited from suitably qualified Anguillians or residents of Anguilla to fill 15 vacancies in the rank of Constables in the Royal Anguilla Police Force.
The key duties includes, taking lawful measures for:-
(a) preserving the public peace;
(b) protecting life and property;
(c) preventing and detecting crimes;
(d) apprehending all persons whom it is lawful to apprehend and for whose apprehension sufficient grounds exist:
(e) regulating processions and assemblies in public places or places of public resort;
(f) controlling traffic on public thoroughfares and removing obstructions there from;
(g) assisting in preserving order in the territorial waters of Anguilla and in enforcing port, maritime, immigration, revenue, fisheries and import and export laws;
(h) executing summonses, subpoenas, warrants, commitment and other process issued by courts of criminal jurisdiction;
(i) laying complaints and information and prosecution of offenders;
(j) assisting in the protection of life and property at fires;
(k) attending the criminal courts and civil courts and keeping order therein;
(l) escorting and guarding persons in lawful police custody;
(m) performing such functions as the Governor may, in the interest of law enforcement or internal security, require and;
(n) performing such other functions as may by any provision of law be imposed on a police officer;

Qualifications
Applicants must:
(a) Possess 4 CXC subjects including English Language and applicants with less than the minimum qualifications may be considered;
(b) be of good character;
(c) be physically fit or pass a physical fitness test in
in order to be considered
(d) be between the ages of 18-35 years;
Successful applicants will be expected to complete initial training in Barbados.
