Various businesses were contacted for donations, and two businesses complied. Le Grand Marché has given a 15% shopping discount to all teachers. All shopping must be done on Wednesday, November 16 in order to have the discount applied. Cable TV has also donated one month of free cable subscription for 10 teachers, which will be raffled at the end of the week, to determine the recipients.

EOM is designed to bring awareness to education where all educational stakeholders and the community of St. Maarten will get involved. The objective of EOM is to get everyone engaged and actively involved in education.

Another goal of EOM is to promote men in education and recognize current male educators. All male educators on the Dutch side will receive a special EOM plaque, with words of encouragement.

Minister Jacobs visited six schools on Monday, November 14. The schools were: Sister Borgia, Oranje, St. Joseph, Marie Genevieve de Weever, Sundial and St. Maarten Academy PSVE.
